About me

ABOUT

Gabi was born in Pasadena, California and grew up between Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland, the daughter of a lieutenant colonel and a world disaster relief manager. She has been a writer for most of her life, and a filmmaker since high school.

She is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design.

ABOUT THE WORK

Gabi's first film was based around an aimless heroin addict holed up in a motel, and from there has focused on social stories about grief, trauma, and the everyday lives of young and troubled people. Inspired by the British kitchen sink realism of the 80s and 90s, and the works of Alan Clarke, Shane Meadows and Peter Mullan,  she is especially passionate about the stories of those who often slip between the cracks of society and get lost.
